Friendsim Vol 5 releasing at 4PM PST!

hey everyone! thought I’d give you a heads up since today is that most coveted, most vaunted of days, the FRIENDSIM RELEASE DAY

there’s going to be a minor delay in the release compared to previous weeks, so the launch time will be around 4 PM PST instead of noon like it was previously

in the meantime, I’m sure you’re all dying to know who you’ll be befriending this time around, so I’ll give you a little preview!!

… its full of incredibly poorly handled super insensitive parallels to the civil rights movement as well as the holocaust despite barely addressing any real-world racism (despite being only set like less than 100 years from now) and being completely masterminded by a white guy

it’s set in 2038 actually. and honestly the most ridiculous thing about it is that the parallels are actually too specific to not be intentional- “rounding up” androids to put into “destruction camps,” verbatim mentions of civil rights and slavery, a black woman LITERALLY SAYING she wants to help the androids because “it reminds her of what her people once went through,” NOT TO MENTION the beginning of the game saying “this is our future”- but then, when controversy arose because of this, david cage responded by saying “don’t draw parallels between this game and the real world.”
